Frederick C. Sharp
Frederick C. Sharp is a retired Senior Special Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. His duties included investigating alleged violations of federal firearms, arson, explosives, alcohol, and tobacco statutes and had over 28 years of experience working in Detroit, Michigan. He was a member of the Special Response Team (SRT). He also served on ATF’s National Response Team, which responded to arson, and explosives scenes anywhere in the country in 24 hours. This entailed specifically: assisting in post-blast, post-fire scene examination, documenting the scene, evidence collection and witness interviews. Mr. Sharp was an ATF Certified Explosives Specialist and provided technical assistance to state and local bomb squads during investigations of explosions, safe disposal of recovered, purchased, seized or forfeited explosive materials. He also provided explosive diagnostic capabilities at special events such as Super Bowls, World Cup Soccer, Ryder Cup, etc. He also had a collateral duty serving as ATF’s National Recruiter at the request of the ATF Director and commuted to Washington DC. from Detroit. Sharp was accredited with helping to achieve a diversified,
highly motivated, and skilled workforce.
Sharp’s specialized training included: Special Response Team (SRT), Global Marksmanship Training, U.S Department of State Diplomatic Security, U.S. Secret Service Dignitary Protection, Advanced Explosives Disposal Techniques, Hazardous Material, OSHA certified for fall hazards, structural collapse, skid steer operator, Chemistry of Pyrotechnics and Explosives, Practical Blasting Fundamentals Level One Training, Canadian Explosives Technician Training, Advanced Scientific Content Analysis, Military Police School Counterdrug Investigator’s Training, Advanced Arson and Explosive Investigation, Advanced Undercover Investigative Techniques, Detroit Metropolitan police Academy Undercover School and Equal Opportunity Training.
Besides being a graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center he was also an instructor at FLETC for advanced undercover and was trained through the firearms instructor program. At the time of his retirement, Mr. Sharp possessed a U.S Government Top Secret Security Clearance.
Mr. Sharp earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan.
